Downtown Parking is different.

Parking infractions are a frequent source of fines or tickets from the City of Edmonton.  Know the rules to avoid disrupting other residents.

What kinds of vehicles are allowed in the Parkade?

Vehicles must be private passenger automobiles.  Similar to other downtown condominiums with underground parking, the parking stalls in Vivacity One do not accommodate large vehicles (eg most trucks).  The yellow lines demarking each stall are generally equal to or greater than the legal length of the stall.  If unsure, please contact us for the legal dimensions of your parking stall.

Vehicles extending beyond their legal limits onto Common Property may become a hazard for other residents.  Complaints from residents regarding obviously oversized vehicles will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and owners of offending vehicles can be subject to recurring fines.

I have friends / family visiting – Where can they park?

Visitor parking is located on the east side of the building, and can be accessed on a first come first serve basis from 98 Avenue, between 103 Street and 104 Street.  Due to the steep incline of this area, the Visitor Parking is closed during the winter when snow/ice cause hazards.

Alternately, the parking meters on 99 Avenue are free after 6PM and on Sundays/Holidays.  Street parking is also available south of the building, but be sure to follow marked parking signs - the City of Edmonton patrols the area diligently.

Can I park or stop in front of the building, near the overhead door?

Stopping is acceptable. Leaving your vehicle unattended (also known as parking) in front of the main parkade door is not acceptable, as it makes it more difficult:

  • for other residents to enter/exit the parkade
  • for emergency crews to access the building
  • for mobility-impaired individuals to use the access ramp

Vehicles left unattended in front of the main parkade door may be towed anytime. Use your own stall if you live in the building.  Use the visitor parking or street parking if you are visiting.

I don’t use my parking spot.  Can I rent it out?

Yes you can. However, you can only rent it to other residents of the building, as this does not compromise the security of the Building. Feel free to advertise using the bulletin board located in front of the elevators.
